Diet Inquiry

Following the couple of week I have been learning about Diet.
We have a rotation for inquiry and Diet is my third rotation.
I learnt that a weightlifter needs more protein and also the long distance runner.
I found finding websites hard because we had to look out for the C.R.A.P test.
A crap test is a Currency, Reliability, Authority, Purpose or the point.

Comets DLO

L.I: To summaries a text

For reading we had to read a text called "The comets".
Then we had to summarise the text and look for key words. Some of the keywords that I found in this piece of text were: Colliding, Hazy, and Blaze. Then we had to create a Find, Draw, Animate.
I found searching for the prediction for when comet halley will return.

This week for math Tai and I made a poster on the subtraction work on transum level 4.
We had to use the column method to solve these questions.

Poetry

LI: To use a range of vocabulary to create a picture in the reader's head.

This week we have been learning about making a picture in a reader's head when you are writing a poem. Noun's are a naming words, Adjectives are describing words, Verbs are action words and adverbs are describing a action word. These are some of the adjectives : Tall, Short and skinny. I have learnt that there are also proper noun, Common noun and extra.

Hauora

Last week for inquiry we have been learning about what hauora means to an athlete and to us.
I worked with Zahra and Abdurrahim.
There are four walls to hauora and they are Taha Tinana, taha hinengaro, taha wairua, taha whanau.
If 1 of the wall fall all of them so that mean the athlete won't have the confident he had last time.

How to Make a Non-Polluting Car

This week we have been learning about finding the most important or main idea in a text.
This week for reading we read about How to make a Non-Polluting Car.
I think that this is a persuasive and procedural text because the author of this text is trying to persuade the reader to make a no-polluting car by telling us the materials and steps.

Dronebotic Drone is back

 Today my and my partners have made a google drawing on advertising. We had to make our own advertisement. An advertisement should have Emotive Language, Rhetorical question and Repeated words. We had to create a title for our advertisement and we came up with "The Dronebotic drone is back".
I found thinking for a title hard because there were more that 4 ideas came in my mind.

Column Method

Column method is a method to solve 2 or more digit numbers.

How to make a non Polluting car By Sanujan, Tai, Fraidoon and Jack

L.I: To find out the most important (Main) Idea in a text.




This week my reading group has been learning about how to make a Non Polluting car.
We had to find out words that we don't understand or recognize then write them on a piece of paper. After that we had to make a presentation and write down word from the piece of paper and the Synonyms which is the similar meaning and Antonyms which is the opposite meaning. I learnt a new word called Notch and Notch means Gap. I was struggling to find the Antonyms because I couldn't find antonyms for some words. Next time I have to check very hard to find lots of antonyms.
I work with Tai, Fraidoon and Jack.

Following the couple of week we have been learning about Place Value Houses.

Jeremiah, Ta'ani and I had to competition and Ta'an was being our coach so no one cheats and we have a fairplay.

Language features of advertising

 L.I: To recognize and understand purpose of advertising (Persuasive) language features
Last week we have been learning about advertising. My partners and I searched up for some advertisement and we found the destiny game. We really liked this advertisement so we decided to chose this.
I found choosing the advertisement hard because my partners want other advertisements.
Next time I want to work on more complicated advertisement.

This week I have been learning about finding the most important or main Idea in a text. The book that
I read was Neighbourhood Niggles : Mr and Mrs Fitz.
The author of this book is Suzie long.
Suzie long wrote a persuasive text about Mr and Mrs Fitz chicken's are so annoying and they have to be sent to a country area.
