Our task for maths today was to read the activity above and give our opinion on Jarod's strategy. We had to write if we thought his strategy was easy or hard, and then we had to post it on our blog.
My opinion
I think that Jarod's strategy was easy to follow and I could use his strategy for small numbers, for example: half of 6 is 3 and half of 3 is 1.5, I got this answer quickly. Though I don't think I can get big numbers like 1,050,809 quickly because that is a really high number. I think It will take a long time to do it on a paper or in a book and I would really need to use a calculator if I want to halve that number.
