The redesigning of the cover is a visual representation of the destroyed alliance between the Soviet Union and The Germans. This is why they are standing on opposite sides of the fence. We added a plane as world War 2 was the first time for planes to be used in war and it was special during this time as America bomb Japan via an aeroplane. We have added a spiked fence as in the story it talks about the narrator’s family getting moved to a concentration camp. This relates both too when Hitler tries to invade U.S.S.R and when Adam’s (Narrator) family is moved to a concentration camp.
